offers financial aid in the form of research and teaching assistantship to PhD students. There is no need for a separate application for financial aid.
The financial aid package includes a monthly stipend (living allowance) and a waiver of tuition fees. The monthly stipend ranges from S$2,000 (1st year) to S$2,500 (subject to a successful completion of mandatory coursework). Your annual income based on this stipend is free of income tax.
Continuity of Financial assistance is dependent on your performance as a research student.
We have the following rules in IMI that the student should have a supervisor AND a co-supervisor. The co-supervisor should be an active person, both should supervise the work, and joint publications are expected. The student should be open to interdisciplinary work and be open to extend his or her topic.
IMI also provides other forms of monetary assistance such as partial conference travel grants to attend and present your research work in overseas conferences.
